A way to really contribute - in the Spirit of a Helping Hand...

Just turn it off everythime you drive it until you can get the right size's in the back or a 4% separation.

Thats your issue, the rear tires need to be larger than the fronts

I thought that might be the problem, but when I first got the car I had this sane issue and I could normally just turn it off when I got in the car but now when I press the button nothing happens the light doesn't go off so its like stuck with no traction control.

Someone else might need to chime in on the exacts on how to do this but, I think you can bypass it all together.

Got Em.

Wow -doesnt look like the same car! Way to go Daniel -glad you are getting her fixed up.

Now go and look at putting a cut-out switch in the car. This switch (I ran mine off the lighter-dont let people smoke in my car :)) will effectively cut power off from the battery when thrown so even if they break the column on your car cant start because of no power.

You can mount/hide the switch anywhere in the car interior and it is a cheap way to burglar proof your car if you dont have the money for an alarm. If they want your car they will get it but this keeps the casual thief from grabbing it. Not hard to wire but ask the mechanic guys at Ford if they can do it for you. Should be alot less then an alarm system.

Very good job on the car -way to go Daniel :)

That sounds like a great idea, but how did it work?? I don't let people smoke in my car either so that would work great!!

I used the lighter -push it in and it effectively grounds the system and stops the power from going to the starter. You can easily use a single pole switch and mount it anywhere in the car and it can be wired to do the same thing. I switched mine to a switch because I use the lighter plug for my other electronics. Not that hard to do and the wire can be hidden within the wire loom making it difficult to find if you dont know where it is at or what you are looking for.

That sounds like a plan!! unless until I can get an alarm.

Alright Mr. Hall, we would like an update on the status of your car :P. I was thinking of this thread and couldn't believe how far I had to dig in the forum to find it. Any updates?

Hey wuz up, Well lets see... Since I got her running thanks to you all I have installed a alarm, full coverage, HID's and a Double din touch screen!! Im working on finding (2) 245/55 18 this weekend so I can put them on. My Traction control light and abs still hasn't gone off but I'm thinking that's because I dont have the right size tries on the rear. But other then that Im loving having her back. Thank you,

Having all 4 tires the same size won't trigger the ABS light. You need to find someone with a code reader that will read the ABS module and see what DTC is set.
