But today he was happy to get this old junker out of his bay  j/k

Thank you mm.net for good times and great memories with new friends.

Where's doom :dunno:

Adjusted my SW exhaust for the xxth time after the trans was pulled last. Lubed my Metco control arms and u joints. Splashed some rust dissolver around the frame and other bits. Wiped down the control arms, shocks and axle girdle.

Said thanks to the lady sitting in her car accross the street that yelled over to me what a nice car I have. :)

What brand "rust dissolver" did you use tbone if you don't mind me asking? In addition, a UPC would be appreciated to be honest! :o I've been looking at "rust converter" compounds for quite some time for some non-automotive work, but "reliable" info is difficult to come across! :(

Thanks in advance tbone!

Gave her a good wash, and we put about 137 miles on her out cruising around the lake and back roads. Good times!

Had to pull the front bumper off the Taurus to replace the passenger HID headlight and ballast.

Also replaced the passenger side blend door motor for the climate control system.

Use it on your brake calipers and no need to paint black, which will eventually rust through again and or peel. You'll thank me......

Started the cleaning process on my 64 Galaxie convert.

I'm driving the Parade Marshall in a local July 4th parade.

Just completed a light finishing compound/wax detail on the hood and trunk.

(A 1980 repaint job is a 1980 year repaint job. Tough to beat father time.)

Got an email request last evening from a town with a MUCH bigger and better parade asking me to drive their Grand Marshall.

Thought about it:

1) I have no written agreement or even a handshake with the first town
2) all we have is an email agreement

But, when you make a commitment, you stand by it.

The site says its good up to 200 degrees. I thought calipers would get hotter than that. Does it still work? I've been needing to do something with my calipers...

FWIW This is what I used on my car. It worked great!

Almost 2 years no problem. It's called Por15 and this is a pic of the kit. You can get it on eBay. For about $50.00 or so. They have a few different colors. Black, Red, Silver.

I think the G2 paint is cheaper and 200* is way to low for caliper paint. I think the G2 is good for like 900* check out their web site

First I tried BBQ paint on my calipers and the winter salt caused the rust to come right through. Put the rust treatment on and it turned them nice and black. Have not had an issue in 4 months with heat or anything.

Before I painted my calipers I bought brand new ones.

The base coat I used was Header paint primer that promotes bonding to the metal plus it can withstand extreme heat. This can withstand 2,000 degrees.

Then I did my paint color I wanted VHT caliper paint can withstand 900 degrees. Same with the top clear coat 900 degrees.

I think I am on year 3 now with this paint work and it still looks like the day I did it.
