Over the years I have tried to develop quality performance parts for the Marauder, Kenny Brown started the ball rolling with his conversion package that included the Vortech SC water to air kit, so I designed mine, and the kits were similar, I used a 90 MMLM, in a suck through set up, where the KB used a stock Marauder maf in a blow through configuration, I used a large heat exchanger designed to flow water made by Griffin, KB used, a totally different set up. Last year I came up with the Vortech Air to Air kit. The most critical component in any after cooled SC is the heat exchanger, so we use a huge Speerco after cooler. I have upgraded from a 90 MMLM to the new SCT Big Air B2400, we also have gone to the new GT fuel pump insuring adequate fuel pressure.
This after cooler has both inlet and out let pipes at the bottom where it limits the # of 90 degree bends, which also requires less rubber collars and clamps, this set up makes for a clean east install. There is no need to buy a upgraded after cooler this unit can support up to a 1000 RWHP.
My car has a stock motor with 58 K on the clock, most of these miles were added by many customers who I loaned the car to while working on there's, and there are many passes at the track in the N/A, the car has Kooks LTH with STOCK mufflers 410 gears MMDS and a PI 3500 stall, Addco RSB Pro guard and a built Art car transmission, Mezirier electric watter pump, the car made 460 RWHP with about 10 degrees timing at the highest engine load.
This car is fast 11.62 at 117 MPH the car has no other add on's, no nitrous, no water methanol, all I did was run race gas and add 2 degrees global timing at Commerce this weekend, the car just devastates brand new Nitto 305/45/18 DR.
With the addition of MT slicks this car will run consistent mid to low 11's. It got 18 MPG running 85 MPH on the way home tonight.
I have built motor on a engine stand, with fully massaged Fox Lake stage 3 heads, 98 Cobra Exhaust cams 2001 Lincoln Navigator intake cams, this will give me the low end torque you want for a 4000 pound grocery getter, and still give, you a glass of water on the intake smooth idle, Glassman has this exact same setup and he is at the 630 RWHP mark, his only problem to date is NO TRACTION, he has a ten second car that still gets 18 MPG, I will install this motor in the spring along with a Vortech JT Trim. I will increase the boost and the car will be in the 10's while at the same time be a daily driver, no I will not add a roll cage I love this car.
So what ever you want to do, with your car, this kit is there for all your intents and purposes.
The kit is on sale this month for 4895.00 with free shipping
