Does a thunderbird super coupe count as a kill?

Sick-Speed play toy
He atleast had loud exhaust:dunno: While talking to BradleyG on the phone on the way home from school I couldn't help but to all but push this guy all the way through the intersection at two different lights. What can I say he kept reving up the motor:D Finally at the third light where he's going straight and i'm turning he says "man, nice car! Is that s/c'ed?" I reply back "yep:D" But I definately gave my respects to him and told him I've loved those s/c's since they came out, and then we parted ways into the night smoking up a blaze.

I know that doesn't count, but I couldn't let him get away with reving his car like that! He atleast turned out to be a decent ford lover like me.

i dont know if its a kill, but the thunderbird s/c is a sweet ride though. its a nice little story.

Oh boy, dont let my friend Damon read this thread. To him the Supercoupe is the greatest car Ford ever built and nothing in the world has come close since .

Blown 3.8 might chime in too. Some of you may have seen Chris' ride at Carlisle or at the track.

I'm quite sure Chris has a MUCH nicer car.

This guy just barely scratched second and it sounded as if he climbed to some really high RPM's to achieve that. Plus only a 10-12 foot burnout each time.

I wonder if he's ever changed the head gaskets himself yet? After doing that a couple times the love begins wearing off, they're a real PITA from what I've heard.

I used to own a 35th Anny model. Everything on those cars is a PITA. But, for an almost 2-ton car, they ran and handled amazing. I was so impressed with the power that I'm actually considering putting a bored & stroked SC engine in my '65 Mustang just to turn a few heads.

We got the head gasket problem all taken care of when they invented the MLS gasket.:2thumbs:

And yes Damon is correct. Best car ever made!;)

Be careful Just bob I'll come repo that blower you got.:D

Now that Damon has his 3rd tranny installed along with new Autorotor, we havent heard the end of how much power he's going to make, and how fast its going to be, and how the car was built to take on all cars from the entire planet and how............:tmi::tmi: :blah:

Yes we get it, Ford built a masterpiece in the late 80s and 90s known as the Supercoupe.

But I paid you in full.:P

Those sc's were another car that I just had to have but never got:alone:

I guess I'm lucky as I have both cars. :D

I've got an '03 Marauder and a pretty sweet little '94 Supercoupe 5 speed. After the work I put into them, the SC will eat my Marauder.

It all just depends on the mood of the day as to which I will drive...

I had a 1989 Cougar XR7 back in 1992 with the supercharged V6 & 5 speed & it was a blast to drive. I remember messing around with a 5.0 mustang & he was surprised when he couldn't shake me.

Bingo! Most people truly underestimate what these cars will do. They're not the greatest thing on the block, but with very little work, they are hard to beat... until you blow something up and have to take the engine damned near apart to work on it or you have to find someone talented enough to work on it.

Nice Coupe!! I'm pickin up a 94 5 speed in a few weeks. To keep as a nice driver, when the fast one breaks. If you ever wanna sell that one let me know it looks sweet!

Maybe you know Mike with a 89-90 cougar that put a big whipple and e85, he lives in TN knoxville area I believe.

You on SCCoA?

It was kinda funny at MV5 here in MD. I had the 2nd quickest car at the track and it was a V6.:D

Either of you guys know Kurt Kreitz from St. Louis? He's a friend of mine and has a BAD supercoupe. If you're on SCCoA I'm sure you know him.

I always loved the super coupes.
One of the baddest assed cars ford ever produced. IMHO :2thumbs:
I was and am so disappointed with the "NEW" thunderbirds

You're right. For those of us who know what the Turbo/Super Coupe was, the LX Tbird and the newest Tbird were big disappointments.

Like many of the folks on MM.net, I don't know by name, but if I saw his car or his S/N, I might know who you're talking about.

Thank you for complimenting my bird. I got very lucky with this one and I'm proud of her. I was overseas in '05- '06 and decided that I wanted a '94-'95 5 Speed. I looked all over for one when I got back to the US and came across one with a motor that was leaking coolant into the water. Made a deal for it and drove 12 hours with truck and trailer to pick it up. Met the owner who was also US Air Force and stationed WITH the car in Italy. The car was even more beautiful in person than the pics showed. http://s150.photobucket.com/albums/s115/lilcop2002/1994%20SC/ I paid the cash, got the title, and a FOLDER full of receipts worth about $10K in maintenance and mods.

Got it home and realized that the bolt that keeps the camshaft in place wasn't in tightly and had cracked the timing cover and allowed the camshaft to wreck the valve train. Went through and rebuilt the motor with stronger parts, new cam, ported and polished the intake and heads, MAC headers, full exhaust, Cold Air Induction, and a few other goodies.

Now, she will eat my Marauder's lunch from a dig and up to whatever speed I'm willing to take them.:banana2:

If only I could find a decent deal on a larger MAF and 42lb injectors, I could get Dave Dalke to tune it for me. Hint Hint Hint, folks...

Also, I think that Mike in Knoxville,TN, is Mike Tuck. He has a gorgeous white Cougar, but I haven't been able to see him about it yet.

Just remember if you get that '94 5 Speed, there were only 724 produced...
