I always loved the super coupes.
One of the baddest assed cars ford ever produced. IMHO :2thumbs:
I was and am so disappointed with the "NEW" thunderbirds
You're right. For those of us who know what the Turbo/Super Coupe was, the LX Tbird and the newest Tbird were big disappointments.
Either of you guys know Kurt Kreitz from St. Louis? He's a friend of mine and has a BAD supercoupe. If you're on SCCoA I'm sure you know him.
Like many of the folks on MM.net, I don't know by name, but if I saw his car or his S/N, I might know who you're talking about.
Nice Coupe!! I'm pickin up a 94 5 speed in a few weeks. To keep as a nice driver, when the fast one breaks. If you ever wanna sell that one let me know it looks sweet!
Maybe you know Mike with a 89-90 cougar that put a big whipple and e85, he lives in TN knoxville area I believe.
You on SCCoA?
It was kinda funny at MV5 here in MD. I had the 2nd quickest car at the track and it was a V6.
Thank you for complimenting my bird. I got very lucky with this one and I'm proud of her. I was overseas in '05- '06 and decided that I wanted a '94-'95 5 Speed. I looked all over for one when I got back to the US and came across one with a motor that was leaking coolant into the water. Made a deal for it and drove 12 hours with truck and trailer to pick it up. Met the owner who was also US Air Force and stationed WITH the car in Italy. The car was even more beautiful in person than the pics showed.
http://s150.photobucket.com/albums/s115/lilcop2002/1994%20SC/ I paid the cash, got the title, and a FOLDER full of receipts worth about $10K in maintenance and mods.
Got it home and realized that the bolt that keeps the camshaft in place wasn't in tightly and had cracked the timing cover and allowed the camshaft to wreck the valve train. Went through and rebuilt the motor with stronger parts, new cam, ported and polished the intake and heads, MAC headers, full exhaust, Cold Air Induction, and a few other goodies.
Now, she will eat my Marauder's lunch from a dig and up to whatever speed I'm willing to take them.:banana2:
If only I could find a decent deal on a larger MAF and 42lb injectors, I could get Dave Dalke to tune it for me. Hint Hint Hint, folks...
Also, I think that Mike in Knoxville,TN, is Mike Tuck. He has a gorgeous white Cougar, but I haven't been able to see him about it yet.
Just remember if you get that '94 5 Speed, there were only 724 produced...
