squeaky hood reprise

Most of the squeak comes from the hinges closest to the windshield, and probably no one but me ever lubricates those

In my case it has to be the main latch because the squeak goes completely away each time I attend to it.

That reminds me. I forgot to pick up a jar of that Kentucky Jelly durring the meet down in Louisville. ;)

Sorry, but all you needed to buy was the felt pads that you put under lamps, and attach it to the indented area just above the hood stops.

Sorry...I would rather have a rubber bumper that looks like it belongs there then a stick pad that will fall off eventually....

This ^^^^ is not a cure all either. I put the felt pads in the underside hood dent. Lubed the hood latch and installed the rubber bumpers. I still have to occasionally adjust the bumper screws on either side. Now I'll be looking at the upper hinges per Zack's recommendation so I can join the Elite.

Been on there for five years. :)

Works for me, No squeaks since the first time five years ago. :D

Wonder why those bumpers were left off in the first place, cheap as they are.

another shape from your local Ford Dealership....Town car I think. Dennis

Actualy I think those are the ones to get over the N807055S that I have ordered and installed today. The N807055S are too big and dont have the good design to fit the hood, this force my hood too much so it dont follow the line of the fender anymore.

I will try to find the part # for the one like in the picture.

Looks exactly like the ones that I got under Ford Part Number - N804384-S (comes in a package of two for $8.40 back in 2007).

Charlie I believe those are the correct ones. I threw away the bacon slices I had been using for lube, installed these and not a squeek since in about 3 years. I did run a nut up on the theads of the bumpers and when the height was correct I ran the nuts down to secure the setting forever. No problemo. Dennis:beer:

LOL...I tellya what, I have been greasing the crap outta my chasis thinking the squeaks were from that, I laughed when I figure out it was the darn hood.
