ALOHA

Hell we might make this a Marauder event, party, b-b-q, wet t-shirt contest, bikini car wash and more:banana:. Smoke a Chevy Day:beer:

Now thats a PARTY! Ray (The Dealer) will probably bring his film crew for this, along with PLAYBOY mag crew.

If he comes up with the money for the race, even if it is reduced substanially which I am sure it will be....YES there will be a party, on me...:D:party::sing: All Marauder brothers will be invited.................

Tom....wish I could be there for that....I would like to be there for "SMOKE A CHEVY DAY"....and I have no worries about you getting Jacked....since you since you train some of our finest....boys in blue!!

IMOH there is no way that he can get deep into 12's, let alone low 13's. He will not be able to hook up with street tires, unless he has had many runs with that set up, and he has done some suspension mods and launches perfect. 1970 Nova's, with stock suspension were terrible with wheel spin/hop. It sounds like you are an experienced driver, with many runs with your set up. I would not deviate anything from your normal routine when running him. Heat the tires, go right to stage, no games between pre-stage and stage, don't even look at him. Many people, when running for money, will not do what they normally do, and mess up. One little lapse in the mental game, and it's over. Don't overdrive and break something. But me thinks he has no chance, no chance at all. :)

You should never under-estimate your competition. I watched a 90's Fox body coupe on street tires run 11.50's at nearly 140mph.

What does that tell you?

It should tell you that he had no traction off the line but once rolling it was a rocket.

And just last weekend I watched yet another fox mustang at the local track run 9.606 with NO POWER ADDERS on a small block.

You just never know what you are up against.

Jon is right, you just never know what he might turn out. But he sounds like a douche and is very certain he'll win, and I don't think that will be the case at all. If he knows Tom's car is fast, he would at least recognize it and then say, "Yea, it will be a good race but I think I'll win." To me he just sounds like an arrogant Chevy owner.

Thanks, Mike & Wags. Naw I'll run like I have been drag racing for 37 years, whether for money or trying to beat my personal best. Trust me, I have it down pretty well;). But your right, I'll be really surprised if he can make the the 12's. Maybe the high 12's, maybe. We'll see if he even decides to show up. I saw him last night and told him lets "git r' done, May 29th at a TnT in Bradenton. We'll drive up together, race and come home. He said OK....we'll see....

Believe me John, in this particular case I know EXACTLY what I am up against. I've known this guy for about 6 years. This is his "first" muscle car in 20 years (he is 55 yrs old) that he bought in NC. It is indeed a beautiful car, nice paint, full interior, restored engine all with red line poly-glass tires." But it is not any way a drag car. A show car to go to cruise nights in. That's it. Like you, I have been around the block for a while my friend;)......but I appreciate your concern:up:

I wish, I wish, I wish, I could be there...

Beer bought with winnings taste the BEST!!!

Go get'em Brah...

Subscribing to this one. I didn't realize the scope of this race until I read the avatar. It became crystal clear for me at that point. You are going to beat the brakes off of him. Do it and make us proud all over again!!!!

Thanks for the kudos BigHouse. If it happens, and it is a big if he decides to race me, I'll do my absolute best to make us proud.

I must say other than my own you have my second favorite Marauder on here. It'll run 10's, you actually drive it, you can still have your A/C, radio, seats and you drive around and sometimes trouble finds you. This is what it is all supposed to be about. You truely have a real car, broken cars go on trailers!
