Mm starter?

The mm had a little longer cranking time the last few starts, and on my latest attempt it wont turn over. I had a 6yr old battery that was corroded so I replaced and cleaned terminals well. But still cranks and won't turn over. Also made sure shifter far enough to get neutral safety switch. Any ideas? Thanks.

By saying cranks and won't turn over, can you hear the starter bendix engaging?

That's contradictory...cranking and turning over are the same thing.

Do you mean it cranks but won't start?

Is the Check Engine Light illuminated while it's cranking? If not, you have a bad CKP (crank position sensor). This will prevent the injectors from firing.

If the light IS illuminated, try pushing the accelerator pedal slightly...if it now starts, you have a bad IAC (idle air control valve).

If it STILL won't start, you may have a bad fuel pump. You should hear it run for a second or two when you first turn the key to ON (not start).

Must be a bad day for starters,mine makes loud click noise but no movement.
