No Lights

Premimum care should cover that
I got one for you! My headlights cycle between on and off. It will stay on for two minutes, then go off. Two minutes later, they will come back on. Fog lights stay on no matter what though. Now, I did have my friend take a quick look at the fuses and the power box, the big box on the passenger side fender. I believe that's what is called. Fuses seem to be okay. How hard is it to get the headlight switch replaced? I have the extended 6yr 60,000 mile warranty, you think this would be covered?

Mine is doing the same thing. Took it to the dealer yesterday, they said it was the LCM. Wanted $900 to change it, $450 for the part and $450 for labor. They said it had to be programmed. Is this the case or is it a direct swap? Ordered the LCM off of 1stfordparts.com for $230, I am hoping I can just switch the two units.

Those gougers!

Find another Dealer! I watched my pal install it, while I drank a cup 'o joe (bragging about the weekend @ the dragstrip). Took no longer than fifteen minutes, including the wait in line, for the part. No programming necessary! the whole thing took him less than fifteen minutes

Bradley, as i mentioned at the track, the LCM's have a tendency to suffer from failure of the main light relay inside. This causes all lights to go off and on unpredictably until eventually just staying off.

There are 3 solutions - a new LCM is the easy one. You can also take it apart and replace the relay, or you can do as I did, take it apart, remove the relay, solder wires into the relay connection points, run the wires out of the LCM box and to an empty relay point in the main power distribution box under the hood, then simply plug in a standard Ford relay. Mine hasn't failed yet (60k) but if it does, i can just plug in another relay!

Most people who have these failures drive with their lights on much of the time.

Do you have a source for the correct Power Distribution box contacts to do this?

Since I will be out of ESP shortly, I will be interested to know, what exactly to do. Especially, since the entire LCM module, is well over three hundred dollars. (I read you can get them for two an a half) You are absolutely correct , Tony my lights are always on if the ignition is turned to the on position, because I have a Daytime running light module installed. Just like the Canadian versions came with, from the Factory. Got that Logan?

Bradley, did your car come with the factory plug in the harness for the DRL module or did you have to splice it in?

wELL A YEAR Almost to the day, the lights went out again.
The LCM part gets a 12Mo 12000 mile warranty.
I'll see if I can keep the part that is taken out.

I seem to be able to only get this half right. I had all the symptoms(periodic off, on, off) and now its out completely. Only thing is that it's the driver side light only.

Could the LCM impact one light only?

Well it turns out the sockets were unpluged from the bulbs.
My Mechanic buddy who was troubleshooting it, asked me ,"Who don't like you?"
