Sale! Pre-order! NEW Pioneer AVIC-F Series!!!

I have the interface in stock for the steering wheel controls and have to order the install kit. i also need to know if you have the standard radio or the JBL system to get the correct wiring.

Thanks John

John, I suppose its a good thing that you haven't gotten any early F90BTs in as it seems, from reading posts in other forums, that Pioneer released a bit prematurely. Apparently lots of little bugs and Bluetooth functionality seemed broken. Pioneer has stopped shipping and is instituting fixes before resuming. Guess if you want it bad, you get it bad.
I'm in no big hurry.. let them get the fixes implemented for trouble free operation.

I talked to the Rep this week and they are now in the country. Should see some any day now. Thaks for waiting!

Update on the Avic F90 BT. The first run of these has software problems and do not work. I am told that they should be able to ship out the decks with the corrected software this week if they pass the final inspection. I will post up again as soon as I have more information. Sorry for the delay but all I can do is wait for Pioneer to get it fixed and we are better off having produuct that will work so the frusation level stays down.

 to all those who thought they were gettin's somethin' when they came early!!!! Now they're :banghead:!!!!

Thanx John!!!

I'll wait patiently...

Hi John!

When's your cutoff for getting on the F90BT order? I am trying to talk myself into one.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I will honor this price for awhile. They say the problem is fixed and they are supposed to start shipping this week.

I'm in for the AVIC-F90BT (I'll also need the adapter harness for the MM and the bit to keep the steering wheel controls).

Let me know what you'll need for payment.

Thanks!

The Avic F 90 will be arriving here this Friday. I will be able to start shipping them on Monday. I will contact you on Monday if you have spoken for one. We will be getting 5 units and they are sold unless some of you have changed your mind. Thanks for waiting and these units all have the upgrades in them!

Awesome. Will the interface adaptor install plug and play?

I'm really excited about this because with my new MM I want to install something like this. To install them do you need to do any unreversible changes if you want to put the stock one back in to sell the car?

When you wire up the adaptor, it will be plug and play to an extent. You lose the factory subwoofer and the CD changer (if you have one). BTW, take out the orange spacer in the adapter that plugs into the factory harness. It won't "click" together until you do this. I didn't notice and the lack of a good plug seating caused only my driver's side speakers to work until I figured it out.

You will need to do a little cutting of the dash no matter which method you use and that will make it difficult to put the stock radio back in without another dash bezel (the radio would drop down about 1/8" of an inch or so.

I'm willing to be another install resource with Rich if you want to PM me with questions.

It says that MSN is required. Does this mean the GPS will never update itself? also do you have to install an antenna? Thats to bad you loose the factory sub. I was hoping to keep that and not have to add another sub.

MSN isn't required, but it is available. I used the radio for a little while without MSN and then activated the free 90 day trial of the MSN Direct (it's used for checking gas prices, movie times, weather, and traffic). I haven't found the MSN Direct to be overly useful.

You do have to install the GPS antenna. I despise having things stuck on my vehicle that weren't factory attached (I went as far as mounting my Speed Pass / EZ Pass transponder behind my rearview mirror in such a location that you can't see it from the driver's seat), so I have my GPS and SIRIUS antennas mounted on the back shelf behind the two bumps for the child seat latches. I ran the wires under the housing and through the hole for the 3rd brake light. I should take a picture of that and post it.

I would definatly like to see a pic of that.

Is there any way to make the factory sub work?

Give it up!...You have begun the downward spiral of sound system upgrades, and there is NO turning back....The factory sub is tiny, and not worth keeping. I have heard much more bass from a pair of 6x9 rear deck speakers.

Mount the GPS antenna in the windshield/dash pinch on passenger side. Use provided metal sticky plate.

You WILL occasionally lose GPS signal mounted in back shelf when travelling due south.

I have never lost signal in 8 installs and 3 years of ownership with mount as described above.

I haven't had any problems with this yet. I'll pay attention to see if anything changes, but my being in New England, there might be different satellite antenna locations that work in the vehicle due to the geographic location. Kinda like that picture that was posted to show the angle of the satellites for the satellite radio for different locations in the U.S.
