I remember that plant. I was working at the Teterboro parts depot at the time, maybe 1965 till 1970. Almost became a foreman.

The older guys didn't particularly like when I drove into the parking lot with my new 65 Corvette. The younger guys drooled.

The depot had a small closed off mechanical shop. We peeked into the window when one of the first 2+2 Mustangs was brought in.
 
^^^You think you had it rough driving the vette into parking lot. Try driving a Datsun car and Mazda truck on any of the Big 3 lots to repair their copier machines in the 90's.

Got a lot of exercise in those days

I've been past there a few times since then. There's no Ford signage left and it's quite desolate looking. Anyone thinking about making a trek will likely be disappointed so, incorporate it with something else (perhaps a trip to the Falls).

Too bad I missed out on the Panther tribute meet at the plant a few years ago. I would have loved to have been there and take pics and have memories. I guess I'll have to make up for it when I take my future Mopar sedan up to the Canadian Chrysler LX plant instead.

It's Sad to see it like that and what's even worse I will never be able to visit the place where my car was build. :(
 
Nice pic, Babbage! It is too bad that the plant is being demolished. It is a sign of the times when it's more profitable to let all the importers assemble cars here in North America. :rolleyes:

I tried to purchase all the outdoor display Mercury signs when the line went away. They had to send them all to Ford so they could be destroyed. Sad :(
 
i am proud to have owned many cars built at that plant and all the cars you and I all enjoy made by Canadian workers.
If we get some dry weather next week Ill run the Marauder out to Talbotville and snap some pics of whats left of the plant.
