What a disappointment. Lost .01 of a second. Yes. Actually ran slower in the 1/4.

Picked up .162 in the 1/8th. Whoop de freekin' do!

Is something not right? There was a strong headwind all night or maybe I gained a few pounds but never would have imagined.

Was your car retuned for the new gearset? In dreamland, I’m considering 4:10 gear set, 3500-3600 stall converter and CAI - keep in mind our stock engine torque peaks at 4250 rpm. Stock stall for my ’04 is between 2500-3000 rpm - let’s just say 2500 for this scenario. The car will have to be retuned to make it all work.

I’ve had no dealings with MartyO on this board but he has many positive references here. Tell him what you have and he should be able to mail you what you need.

I bought a tune from him with a 3:55 and 4:10 option. Not sure what difference it would make besides the speedometer. I switched it over. Maybe I did something wrong. My MPH has dropped in the 1/4 but I assume that is because of the gear swap.

Fuel, spark and transmission maps should all be different, along with the speedo correction. Hmmmm….

Check the density altitude of both days online, I bet the DA was better in June last year.

You can check the DA of the track back a few years. Wallace racing might have the calculator, i forget.

Can you add more timing in first gear? That sixty foot is terrible

Hth

Your better run a few days ago at 6:22pm, the DA was Density Altitude: 426 feet
Relative Density: 98.76 %

Your timeslip from June 24 2017, the DA was Density Altitude: 2366 feet
Relative Density: 93.26 %

OK, so something is seriously wrong with your car. It should have went much faster with the lower DA... I would ask Marty to chime in. With the above information, he will see that something is not correct. The car should have more HP with lower DA. This is the MPH at the 1/4 mile mark. Your down a few MPH.
So your lacking HP. What gasoline do you run?

Sorry bro, you can keep a knockin' but you can't come in.

Thanks. I will.

It's alright J I'm not here to derail your thread like you did mine. Just to share some real world experience with the two Marauders I own.

My newest Marauder has the same mods that you have done and like you, I wasn't impressed with it. My old Marauder had a 2800 stall converter and the difference was night and day. These are small cube engines in heavy cars with tight converters from the factory. These engines also like rpm and the factory converter won't let the engine get moving before the car does. I chose a 2800 stall FTI converter because it was cheaper than the 3000 stall that's more popular. I think you would really be impressed by how much of a difference a good stall converter makes in these cars. Another good thing is they're way cheaper than a set of sw long tube headers and exhaust. Just going from a 3:55 to the 4:10 isn't much of a difference, but when coupled with a good LU stall converter it's much better. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I'm going to swap things over from mine one at a time to see what difference each mod makes.

Something is up... my stock car would only run 15.1.... 4.10 gears and tune she dropped to a 14.5... is your car stone stock other than the gears and tune? 14.80's on a stcok car is really quite good but that 60' time is junk...

So you went a 14.5 with a gear and tune which is what I think he has, and he went a 14.8? What mph and 60' did yours do?

CAI, Marty's tune, 4:10's that's it. No tire spin either.

Temp/Humidity can add .75 to the "best" time.

Assuming in all the runs you left it in "D" with the "OD" off it could be a number of factors including a slipping trans.

Frequently it is more than just one factor.

Good Luck in figuring it out.

With a Tune and 4:10;
60 330 Eight MPH 1,000 Quarter MPH

2.183 6.102 9.27 78.26 12.007 14.331 97.08
2.168 6.062 9.214 78.53 11.95 14.274 97.05
2.166 6.062 9.218 78.44 11.956 14.286 96.79
2.194 6.098 9.261 78.34 11.987 14.305 97.3

Oh yeah. My best stock run was 14.738.
One of my first ever runs was on a night was about like 90 degrees with 90% humidity. It was absolutely awful, practically swimming it, soaked while standing still. I ran a 16.10 that night.
