Getting ready for the 2015 Carlisle All Ford Nationals. Cleaned up both the Marauder and the SHO today. Spent most of the time on engine compartments, wheels, and interiors. Four more days to get the rest ready for the big show.
Put 9 coats of Rustoleum Automotive paint on the hood. Went for 10 but 2 mosquitos landed on it. 600 grit wet sand in 48 hours, then 4 or 5 more coats of paint. Going to let it cure for 2 weeks while in Florida. Then buff with McGuiars buffing compound. Mineral spirits, clear coat then wait 1 more week and wet sand/buff. The paint matches great and laid down very nicely. Tried it on a spot on my rear bumper that some bird used for a toilet some years back before I sprayed the hood. It will be like a sheet of glass when I'm done.

Here's a pic or 2. Remember, not even wet sanded or polished/cleared yet.

Bought and installed a heavy duty exhaust fan for the garage so I can paint all day without opening the back door and allowing dust inside. And turning into a vegetable.
