I joined the Navy and spent 3 1/2 years on a submarine in order to get my '68 Cougar. At discharge, I had it shipped to Terminal Island, then took a month to drive it back to Michigan.
Beat that!

He had this one tucked in there, sort of out of sight, and I bet most of you missed it. This was an odyssey of biblical proportions, done in a world class snow storm, and all of us rode along with the AZ traveler and Cruztaker. It was a hoot ....the stuff of movies ...

Mike,

Thanks for the trip down memory lane....

I read all the posts and was surprised how up beat I sounded. Most of that trip I was a whipped puppy and a doubting Thomas. That has to be the hardest trip I've ever attempted... and I've done some crazy things...
I mean last weekend in LA traffic with a 23' car hauler on behind my 03 F150... piece of cake compared to that snow run!

Flew to New Orleans Monday and drove my 300A Black on Black on Black Back Home to Daytona Beach! I call it triple black simply cuz it's black with a black interior and a dark chocolate brotha drivin' it!:bat: Ha!

I love this car!

Peace

Bought my 04 Marauder in Houston TX, sight unseen and drove it back to Las Vegas. It was a fun fast trip. A couple of close calls but no tickets.:) Brain freeeze, it was Dallas TX It's all coming back to me now. And I put the first 1600 on the clock.

I just bought a 1963 Marauder S-55 with the 4 barrel 390 from a guy in CA, I'll be having it delivered via cargo truck in April when I get back from being deployed. I can't wait to see it in person

I picked up my 1st Cobra II in Miami, FL. I picked up my 2nd one in Phenix City, AL. I picked up my SVO about 45 minutes north of Atlanta, GA. I flew down and drove all of them back to Durham, NC.

for the long haul

Like, MIB, Gina & I have an XJS story. We flew to Monterrey CA and drove the Jag XJS back to St. Louis. The trip as I recall was about 2300 Miles. We set the trip computer in Monterrey and ran it the whole trip. Result, we averaged 67.5 MPH anytime the engine was running.

Earlier, we flew to LA, bought a beat-up 1961 Starfire, put a radiator in it, drove to San Diego, built a convertible top out of Duct Tape and drove it back to St Louis. The "top" lasted all the way to Laurence Welk Village. From there on it was topless all the way. The car looked so bad that the Valet at the MGM Grand refused to park it.

QUOTE=2003 MIB;477409]Picked up 1996 Ford P71 in Kansas City, MO-drove it home to Bedford, TX.
Picked up 1978 Jaguar XJS in Baton Rouge, LA-drove it home to Joshua, TX.

Both were ebay cars. It was fun.[/QUOTE]

Purchased mine on June 18th, 2004 from a MM.net member and flew to San Diego, CA and drove it home to just south of Minneapolis.

3 hour sleep if I recall, other than that...straight through.

Gorgeous drive, through the Rocky Mts....Nebraska was boring..as was Iowa ;)

Both.

Flew from KY to NC to purchase the '98 and from KY to Kansas City to purchase the '01.

This is how I sold my '96 Thunderbird a few years ago. I posted it for sale on the TCCA forum (thunderbird & cougar club of america) and within a week a guy from Minnesota flew to Chicago, took it for a test drive, and drove it back home. He was quite impressed when I picked him up at O'hare in the marauder- they were still pretty rare at the time.
