Just picked mine up from the post office, and they are brilliantly gorgeous.....:coolman: WOW !!!:bows:

I didn't receive any instructions with mine... I'll just read up on the Thread the post is in. Thanks Rich:D
When I get home from work today, I'll scan the instruction sheet and post it up here for everyone or I can email it to ppl if you just PM your email addy. All n all its pretty straight foward and YOU MUST TAKE YOUR TIME!!! lol I rushed to put my steering wheel one on and it's off ever so slightly but you can't tell unless your 4-5" from it looking at it dead center lol. Try putting this on without honking your horn ONCE.

Rich from CAR was nice enough to call this morning to inform me that mine and the others (7 as I recall) whose orders included sail or C pillar emblems were shipping today. They were the last to be produced. Aren't we having fun now! No hockey sticks left after Thursday or Friday! Anyone who did not get their order in with the group buy or who would like to purchase additional emblems should get on the horn to CAR now. You just think Logan's emblems sold for a lot of money. Wait till these are all gone. MIght be a clue to order an extra set to put away. These will fit on any Grand Marquis. Those folk, male and female; ask me all the time how to get the stuff I have for their GM and CV panthers. Dennis

I'm with you Dennis, I bought an extra set that is now residing in my safe. I'll keep until Rich sells out or I get another Marauder, whichever comes first...:D

Pay special attention when you get to the front badge. The badge is about an eighth of an inch smaller than the opening so be careful to center it as best you can. That tape is STICKY!

I was bored at work and typed up the instructions lol

MERCURY MARAUDER Emblem Installation

Gods Head Grille Emblem:

Remove the factory/OEM grille emblem held to the grille by a single post and nut. Using either a drill with a hole drill bit of 1.5 inches diameter or a sharp utility knife or Toro Drill/Dremel tool, remove the raised portion that provided a hold post area for the factory/OEM emblem. Once removed, insure that the surface is completely smooth and level. Sand the edges of your cuts if necessary. Clean the surface with a few drops of grease-cutting liquid detergent in water (do not use a petroleum base cleaner). Rinse clean with fresh water then dry with a lint-free cloth. Carefully place your new Gods Head Grille Emblem in the recessed area of the grill and observe proper line up. Place the emblem face down on a soft cloth and remove the adhesive protection paper. Carefully pick you emblem up by the edge, line up the top pertion and press into place with constant even pressure. Maximum adhesion will occur within 48-72 hours.

Tip on lining up the front and rear emblems I just figured out, use 2 pieces about 5" of masking tape, electric tape or scotch tape (NO DUCT TAPE or you will be :bop:), roll it over so its sticky on both sides put the tape on the left and right side of the emblem and you will be able to pinch the tape with your fingers, it helped me hover the emblem until I had it centered and then just push the emblem into position with out even putting a finger on them :D .

New to the board. I purchased mine and put them on last saturday. I found that tilting the head (tip of helmet) slightly forward, gives a more aggressive posture. It almost appears that the figure is in the running position which make alot of sense for MERCURY the messenger.

All I got today was an Email with tracking number, so I went out in the garage and removed my rear emblem with the fishing line worked great.
The gloves ,acetone are a must thanks Jim,I used a plastic putty knife once the acetone(nail polish remover) softened the leftover tape.
Lets see the pics for those of use still waiting.

If you are trying to remove adhesive from a label, try orange magic type liquid. It smells like citrus fruit and does not affect the clear coat like the acetone does. Acetone is very aggressive.

What are the pros and cons of the old style trunk badge and the one offered by Motorsports.

I believe the old style was taking the center off our aluminum wheel. This new style is made of plastic is this correct? Is the OEM trunk badge made of plastic?

Does anyone have pictures of the trunk lid emblem installed on a black MM? I will like to see what it looks like mounted on the car.

John, go back thru the posts and you'll see that theses are like a friggin piece of jewelry. No plastic here. After I get mine installed I'm seriously thinking of upgrading my alarm system to a perimeter-type alarm.

Lookin good! Mine came in the mail today, along with my new Autometer Guages, (what an incredible coincidence!) but I'm out of town this week! :baaa: AAAAAGGGHHHHH!!! Now I have to wait for the weekend to put everything in...... this is gonna be a long couple of days.....:mad2: (And I swear to God it better be nice this weekend.....)

P.S. David, man how warm is it down there that you can be wearing shorts?! It's like 20* up here!

Mine came last night in the mail, well packaged. Just curious: if you have front and rear how are they different? Is the front thicker?

I got the rear and the steering wheel. Just occurred to me with the weight of this sucker, if the air bag ever deploys they'll be digging this thing out of my chest!

I saved big bucks by not getting the front, 'cuz I already had Zack's $475 chrome grill. (Hey, wait a minute... :) )

The front looks damned nice installed. I almost wish I had kept my old black grill so I could get one of these and swap it out.

I also have the spoiler so need to work around that to get the rear off. Sorry, but there's no way with my paint I'm putting acetone on the car. Goof off should get it off pretty good.

Thanks for another cool product Rich!

Norm
